Barking & Dagenham College has successfully won a grant to deliver a full time volunteer programme.

Based at a state of the art centre in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, the programme will give unemployed 16 to 25 year-olds the skills and confidence to enter into education, training or employment. Young people will get involved in team building activities and various environmental community projects. They will also get gain a nationally recognised qualification- level 2 Environmental Science Award/Certificate.

The College is seeking a highly motivated, confident and skilled full time volunteer manager who will put young people at the centre of what they do to ensure this programme delivers positive outcomes to those young people on the programme but also provide engagement, fun and involvement of the local and wider environmental community that will be served as a result of the programme.

 A self-starter, you will also have excellent planning and organisational skills. You will have good communication skills, both written and oral, with colleagues, participants and external agencies.

 You will be a capable leader able to enthuse and inspire those with whom you work, have excellent networking skills being able to garner support from employers and key stakeholders to meet the key aims of the programme.

 You will be familiar with guiding learners through a portfolio based qualification, able to give constructive feedback and set SMART targets. You will be responsible for delivering volunteering projects that will take place outdoors during the 6 month programme.
